About
the Photographer... Having
attended the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa
Barbara, Douglas has been taking pictures professionally
for over 27 years. In that time, he has strived to bring
out the true beauty of everyone he photographs.
His
Style... Your Headshot is the first impression
that you have to show casting directors that "You Are
The One". Achieving this in your headshot is most important
for actors who want to have that cutting edge with
the people making the decisions. "The
Eyes are the Windows to the Soul." Using this philosophy,
Douglas elicits emotions and/or moods that seem to reveal
the real person inside... all the while, remembering
the business of "making you look your best".
It is critical that your Headshots truthfully represent
you, as well as showing your true versatility as an actor.
His unique
style of photography
captures that special quality that is in every client.
Keeping the focus on the eyes in every photo, his work
communicates with agents, casting directors, and the
decision makers of the industry. Many clients have booked
jobs and/or representation, shortly after shooting...
Whatever you want to convey, Douglas will capture it
with his unique vision. After all, a picture is worth
a thousand words.
The
Shoot... Douglas
shoots approximately 20 images for each look (wardrobe
change). This is to achieve the best Digital images
possible. You are able to view the shots while their
being taken.
This way, you have the opportunity to review and
make adjustments, immediately. An Online Gallery of
your
shoot will be provided, at no charge, for the first
two weeks.
Review your shots... send them to your Agent,
Manager, friends & family,
and others that can assist you in the very important
decision of choosing the best image(s) to represent you.
What
to Wear... Usually, I suggest that you bring
several styles of wardrobe (Business, Elegant, Casual,
Sporty, Edgy, etc.). Having several choices in each
style is recommended. Colors are not a problem. They
often enhance the mood. Coats, jackets, and sweaters
are beneficial for that layered look. T-shirts that
have a textured style can also work. Collared shirts
often give more definition to a look, though. Jeans
or slacks may be brought (to enhance a certain look.)
The most important thing is to be comfortable.
